IES has been awarded a $15 million grant that includes a new Center for Sustainable Bioeconomy for Arid Regions (SBAR). The 5-year grant is a multidisciplinary, intercollegiate research project awarded by USDA-NIFA that will help to address the nation's need for biofuel and bioproducts. The research focuses on two plants that grow in arid regions and require little water: guyaule and guar.
