
Wendan Zhang has conducted research in three topics: 1) the relative impacts of market conditions, environmental regulations, and regulatory uncertainty on coal-fired power plant retirement decisions; 2) the polluting behavior of coal-fired power plants approaching retirement; and 3) the reasons that households are not driving Electric Vehicles (EVs) as much as expected.
Wendan is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Economics with a minor in Geographic Information System Technology at the University of Arizona, and previously earned a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Arizona, as well as a master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Before coming to the U.S., Wendan attended Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China) for a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics with a minor in Business Administration at the East China Normal University.
