Itzel Marquez

Achilli Research & Teaching Lab
Itzel Marquez is a post-doctoral associate at the UA Water and Energy Sustainable Technology (WEST) Center. She received her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arizona where she developed mathematical models to predict the oxidation of Trace Organic Compounds in wastewater. She was worked and done research in different processes and projects in wastewater treatment for the last 7 years. She has also worked as a college lecturer and has experience in the pharmaceutical and oil industries.
Her current research is focused on emerging membrane processes for water purification using sustainable energy.
